Born on 10 March 1959, married to Ada Jasmine Folkes, 2 children, James aged 16, and Rebecca aged 11.

He became a Christian in 1977, aged 18 and was involved in Prison Ministry with ‘The Sowlight Trust’, (formally Arklight) for a number of years, before becoming a Trustee of the charity.

At the age of 22, he was appointed Sunday School Superintendent of his local church [COGIC Tottenham] and later the National Sunday School Superintendent.

At the age of 30 was appointed as an Elder and one year later was ordained in this capacity, where he served under the leadership of the late Bishop R.C. Bell.

Pastor Folkes has served the Church in a number of capacity, i.e. teacher, choir member, usher, van driver, youth group leader.

Three years ago he was asked to take up the Pastoral role of the work in Aston, Birmingham. After seeking the Lord for direction in prayer and fasting, he received confirmation to take up the challenge and as a result has seen the Lord moving in wonderful ways. Souls have been saved, baptised and filled with the Holy Ghost and become members of the church.

It is his desire for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached in the community, that it be received and as a result bring about a change in the area. His prayer is to see the young men and women, who are faced with so many issues, take hold of word and accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.

Just recently he has been appointed as the district superintendent for the Midland area.
