• To have a church where the Bible is preached, and the people hear and do what it says
• That our church be a place where Christians are built up through the Scriptures and equipped to do ministry (Eph. 4:11-12).
• For our church to be evangelistic and mission minded (Acts 1:8).
• For there to be numerous opportunities for people of all ages to learn and grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Bible (Hebrews 5:12-6:1).
• For our church to be a place of excitement and be a vibrant place of worship (Rev. 5).
• For our church to see continual growth (Acts 2:41 & 47 and Acts 4:32 and Acts 6:1).
• That each member love Jesus above and beyond all things (Deut. 6:5 and Rev. 2:3-4).
• That each member genuinely love one another (John 15:12).

There are Six Purposes for Every Church (Acts 2:37-47):

1) Preaching (v. 37-41)

2) Fellowship (v. 42 & 46)

3) Discipleship (v. 42a)

4) Ministry (v. 44-45)

5) Worship (v. 47)

6) Evangelism & Spreading the Gospel (v. 47)

Church Goals:

• Wider participation in outreach ministry, to enable people to become personal soul-winners
• To develop a strong prayer ministry
• To reach the wider community of Aston especially young people and young families
• To have a church membership of over 500 people
• To develop the Calvary Community Centre into a vibrant and successful adult learning centre delivering a range of courses to the community
• To extend the church building to cater for God’s increase, raising at least £250,000 towards this goal
