God designed that men would have the leadership role in the home and in the church, because we have failed, the women have to be doing their role as well as ours. It’s time for us to arise and take our rightful place in our home, church and society. As men we are not a failure; but we must admit that we have failed the church, our youth, our children and ourselves.
As men we should be leading our family into worship, but some how we think that is for the women. Peter’s instructions about the leadership roles in the church 1 Timothy 3:2–7; require that these positions be filled by men.
According to Dr. Phil, “if men want to be successful in their marriage and family life, they have to change and broaden their definition of what it means to be successful as a man. Being a good provider, protector, leader and teacher is a privilege that comes with responsibilities that many men aren't aware of.”
There is a direct relationship between strong homes, strong churches, a strong society and Godly men. There is no substitute. God made no provision if this fails and when we fail, we must pay the consequences. While we may not contribute much to the salvation of our nation as a whole or the church in its universal sense, we can begin where we live and make a difference. Let each of us resolve to take our place in God's structure of life by showing the courage of Joshua. "As for me and my house..."
Since the last two years, it has been in my spirit to organise the men from the local churches for a weekend of praise and worship. This would take place on Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th April 2009. At Calvary Church Of God In Christ. Aston.
This would include a united choir (30 men), praise and worship teams and musicians. I would like to ask the Poster and men’s fellowship leader from each church, to organise the men and teenagers to take part in these areas. Please encourage your teenagers (13+) to be a part of this weekend. Practise for this event will be arranged. Please let me know what day would be best for you, so that I can arrange the first one for next month.
