Help and the Fire – Fold Ministry

Introduction

The word help defines the task of someone who gives assistance or support to another; one who functions alongside another upholding one by aid in furtherance of a course to ensure victory or success.  The ministry of help is needed in all area of human endeavors.

When we look at the story of creation from Genesis 2:18 ff I quote’ And the lord God said it is not good that a man should be alone, I will make him a helper comparable to him’ (NKJ)

God is so interested in us mankind who created in his own image.  He knows our limitations and facility.  When he gave task to men he knew what it would take for the task to be accomplished.  When God created us he gave us everything necessary to help or assist fulfilling the purpose of our lord Jesus and the twelve disciples demonstrated the ministry of help.  These twelve he called, equipped to have power over everything to heal, and after his death resurrection and ascension into heaven, these men later appoint others as helpers.  This help ministry has been design to enlighten the church on the nature of the ministry and the importance of those who help.

This help and the fire fold ministry are set by God in local churches to help bring to pass the purposes of God.  When we consider the appointment Christ himself made for the church the body of Christ were ordained by God himself for the accomplishment of his divine plan to save man and build the church.  God recognize the fact that the task is an enormous one for one single individual, and that the servant of god need helpers for order to accomplish it.  All those he calls into any of these offices he gives unto them men and women to help to accomplish the task,

God has given the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher a task to do, a portion of salvation plan that he has for mankind.  Some either fail or some succeed.

‘ For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and the Holy spirit and in much assurance’ Ministers that occupy themselves daily with administration neglecting the spritual will not have the same result in their ministry.  They do not find time to separate themselves unto God in continual prayers, and the study of the word or feeding on the word.  This is not because they do not know the importance of their devotion to the spiritual things or of leaving the mundane things to others, as they ought to, but they have not developed faithful helpers who can carry the burden of these other responsibilities from them.

Sometime helpers become weak or ineffective in the end.  Pastor who sometimes are in need fall the in the category and need to be encourage by these words. ‘Blessed are those servants whom the master when he comes will find watching.  Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat and will come and serve them’ (Luke 12:37).  The help and the five fold ministers have to be efficient in their services to God

The helpers you need must share with you.  They have to be committed towards the goals and be willing to share its success and failures.  At times when we are faces with too many things we become less efficient.  In contrast where there is a faithful team of helpers, the works does not only enjoy stability and progress but experiences supernatural and steady growth.

 

1. Prayer some tips for helpers

a. Pray for faithful support so that the helpers will bring the plan to fulfillment

b. Pray that the helper may be able to unshakeable at each turn of the curve in the course of fulfilling the plan.  It will enable them to go through whatsoever whether sunshine or rain cold or hot along the way.

 

2. Write it down or assign helpers

a. The plan is for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak and it will not lie

b. It will help the helper focus in God’s direction

 

3. Understand the helpers

We need good understanding of the helpers so they will go through with you.

4. Keep the helpers active day by day

Help them keep their mind on track

5. The helper you need

a. Faithful men and women

b. Helper that are dedicated and committed

c. Both skill and unskilled helpers

d. The men and women that are assign you encourage them

 

6.        Educate your helpers regularly as you are being led by the Holy Spirit, so that they    may flow along with you as you carry out the plans.

We should remember that the helpers and the ministry have a measure of gifts or talents.  These are sometimes hidden not until they discover it and start their ministry or help efficiently as in Romans 12:6 – 8 and I quote ‘Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us let us use them; whether prophecy or ministry or he that teacheth or he that exhort, he that giveth he that ruleth, and he that showeth mercy.

Each helps has a gift and need to start using it by helping yourself and others.  Let us as helpers with the five fold ministry gifts try to fulfill our plans.  Our plan can be fulfill when we as helpers are organically inspired by God.  He will uses helpers with this ministry to bring about the plan he himself gives.  God may choose to unfold his plan he himself gives.  God army chose to unfold his plan through any means through helper situation or circumstanced towards the fulfillment of his given plans for our lives.  Now he calls us to help and give ourselves wholly and unreservedly to his service.
